Patriot Dog Training and Behavioral Academy was founded by Sydney and Jaime Martinez on a simple belief: a well trained dog is a happy dog, and a well trained handler keeps it that way.
We use battle tested techniques adapted from military and police K9 handling and apply them in a way that works for family dogs. Clear expectations. Consistent structure. Fair corrections and rewards. And owner education at every step, because training does not stop when your dog goes home.
Dogs do not live in controlled environments. They live in homes with kids, guests, distractions, and daily routines. That is why we train past basic commands and build obedience under pressure, calm behavior around distractions, and confidence in uncertain situations.

01 · The founders
Every dog in the program is trained by the two people whose names are on the door. No handoffs to junior staff, no rotating trainers.
Founder · US Army veteran
A former Army medic and service dog handler, Coach Jaime leads the training for every dog that comes through the academy, and the service dog placements for Project Valor. He specializes in the hard cases: aggression, reactivity, and the dogs other trainers pass on.
Founder · Trainer
Sydney trains alongside Jaime and runs the academy standard: structured programs, daily updates while your dog is with us, and an obsession with results that last after the leash comes off.
02 · Credentials

03 · Community
The academy trains service dogs for veterans, and we show up in person: local posts, veterans halls, and community events around the Valley. Not for the photos. Because it is our community, and the dogs we train go back into it.
Project Valor · Service dog placement
Patriot leads the training and placement for Project Valor, a partnership with Honoring America's Veterans and the Phoenix Legacy Foundation that places a fully trained service dog with a veteran at no cost. The match works the way it should: the dog chooses the veteran. In March 2026 a service dog named Sasha chose Jonathan Vie, a Marine who served two tours.
