This is home. Patriot Dog Training and Behavioral Academy is based at Happy Valley Road and I-17 in north Glendale, a few minutes from the Thunderbird Conservation Park trailheads and a straight run down Loop 101 to Westgate. Glendale dogs are the ones we see most, and Glendale streets, parks and game day crowds are where a lot of our proofing happens.

What a Glendale dog actually has to handle.
Being local changes the shape of the training. Home Sessions in Glendale never carry a travel fee. Board & Train families can stop by for a handoff session or a group class without crossing the Valley. And when your dog graduates, the lifetime group classes are in your own city.
Thunderbird's trails, five minutes out
Thunderbird Conservation Park is over a thousand acres of desert trail off 59th Avenue, and it is where a north Glendale dog learns to heel past hikers, hold a down while a mountain biker passes, and recall away from a rabbit. It is also coyote and rattlesnake country from spring to fall, which is why the recall is not optional.
Game day at Westgate
State Farm Stadium, Desert Diamond Arena and the Westgate blocks fill with tens of thousands of people on a Cardinals Sunday or a concert night. A dog that stays neutral on a packed sidewalk, ignores dropped food and settles under a patio table is a dog that can go where the family goes. We use the district for exactly that.
Arrowhead's HOAs and the historic core
Arrowhead Ranch and Arrowhead Lakes are shared paths, greenbelts and other people's dogs every morning; Catlin Court and downtown Glendale are patios, festivals and Glendale Glitters crowds. Leash manners that hold in both are the everyday goal for a Glendale dog, and both are minutes from the academy.

Where exactly are you, and can I meet you before committing?
Our base is at 3820 W Happy Valley Rd in north Glendale, at the I-17 corridor. The free consultation is the meeting: we meet you and your dog, hear the whole story and give you a straight assessment. Is there a travel fee for home sessions in Glendale?
No. Home Sessions carry a travel fee beyond twenty miles from Glendale, and nothing in the city is anywhere near that line. Arrowhead, Westgate, downtown, Sahuaro Ranch: all covered at the base rate, two session minimum.
My dog loses its mind on the trails at Thunderbird. Can you fix that?
Yes, and we can fix it on those trails. Reactivity toward hikers, bikes and other dogs is a Behavior Modification case: structure at home first, then controlled exposure on the exact path where it happens, at a distance the dog can succeed, closing that distance over sessions. You learn the handling as we go, because the dog has to listen to you on that trail, not to us.
