Dog training for Peoria, ten minutes from the academy

Peoria starts a couple of miles west of the academy, and Happy Valley Road runs straight into it. From Vistancia to Old Town, Peoria families are our closest neighbors after Glendale itself, and the city's mix of lake, preserve trails, ballpark crowds and brand new HOAs covers most of what a dog ever has to handle.

01 · Training in Peoria

What a Peoria dog actually has to handle.

Peoria dogs get the shortest drive to a Board & Train drop-off, Home Sessions without a travel fee at any address in the city, and lifetime group classes that are genuinely nearby when they graduate.

Lake Pleasant and the shoreline

Lake Pleasant Regional Park is the big weekend for a north Peoria dog: boats, coolers, other dogs off leash whether they should be or not, and open water. A reliable recall and a solid place command turn a stressful day at the lake into the day you pictured.

Sunrise Mountain and the preserve trails

The Sunrise Mountain and West Wing trail systems back right onto Vistancia and Westwing Mountain. Rattlesnakes, coyotes and rabbits live there. So do dozens of other dog walkers at 6am. Obedience that holds on those trails is the Peoria standard.

P83, the ballpark and Old Town

Peoria Sports Complex in spring training, the P83 restaurant patios, the Old Town festivals. Dense, loud, full of dropped fries. A dog that can be neutral in that district can be taken anywhere in the Valley.

02 · Where it has to hold

On your street, not just in your city.

Obedience is proofed where Peoria dogs actually live and walk, so the results survive the first real distraction rather than the last quiet rep.

Home Sessions territory

Peoria is close enough that Home Sessions are the natural fit for door manners, leash skills on your own street and yard problems, with no travel fee anywhere in the city. Board & Train handles the bigger goals, off leash reliability and serious behavior work, with the shortest drive in the Valley for drop-off, daily updates and the handoff. New Vistancia puppies are a Puppy Training staple.

Do you charge a travel fee for home sessions in Peoria?

No. Every Peoria address, from Vistancia and Lake Pleasant Heights down to Old Town, sits inside the twenty mile radius from Glendale where Home Sessions run at the base rate. The two session minimum still applies: one to assess, one to fix the handling.

We just moved into Vistancia with a new puppy. Where do we start?

Puppy Training, and the earlier the better. Between eight weeks and six months the habits set: potty routine, crate confidence, and sit, stay, come and place that hold up around distractions. Vistancia has a lot of dogs on a lot of shared paths, so structured socialization matters more than a free-for-all at the dog park. Book the free consult and we will map the first months.

Can you get my dog reliable off leash at Lake Pleasant?

That is Board & Train work. Off leash reliability around water, wildlife and other dogs takes daily proofing under distraction, which is what three to six weeks with us is for. You get a full handler handoff at the end, and the lake is where we recommend the first real test with you on the leash side of it.
