What a Scottsdale dog actually has to handle.
Scottsdale owners come to us for off leash reliability, for public access manners that let the dog go everywhere, and for CGC and service dog work with a documented standard. Board & Train and the CGC program carry most of it; Home Sessions reach north Scottsdale without a travel fee.
Patio and public access manners
Old Town, Kierland Commons, the Quarter, the resort restaurants: Scottsdale is built around being out. A dog that lies under the table for two hours and ignores the server is a trained dog. We train that specifically, and it is the everyday payoff of the CGC standard.
The greenbelt and the preserve
Indian Bend Wash is eleven miles of park with a dog every fifty yards, and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is thirty thousand acres of trail with javelina, coyotes and rattlesnakes. Leash neutrality on one, distance recall on the other.
Condos, HOAs and gated communities
DC Ranch, Grayhawk, McCormick Ranch and the Old Town condos put dogs in elevators, shared corridors and tight courtyards. Reactivity in close quarters is a common Scottsdale case and it responds well to structure plus controlled exposure.

Off leash reliability and public access
Board & Train delivers the off leash reliability and the calm that Scottsdale life demands, with daily updates and a full handoff. The CGC and Service Dog Program adds the evaluated standard for dogs headed into public access, therapy or task work. Home Sessions cover north Scottsdale without a travel fee; south of Shea and Old Town are past the twenty mile line and any travel portion is quoted first.

How far is Scottsdale from you, and do home sessions have a travel fee?
About thirty minutes to Kierland and forty to Old Town on Loop 101. Home Sessions carry a travel fee beyond twenty miles from Glendale: north Scottsdale, Kierland, Grayhawk and DC Ranch are inside or at the line; Old Town, McCormick Ranch and south Scottsdale are a few miles past. We measure from the academy and quote it before you book.
I want my dog to come to restaurants and hotels with me. Where does that start?
With obedience under distraction and a settle that lasts, which we build in Board & Train or Home Sessions, and then the CGC program to put a standard on it. The AKC Canine Good Citizen test covers exactly the behaviors a patio demands: polite greetings, walking through a crowd, sitting and lying down on cue, reacting calmly to another dog and to distraction. We are certified evaluators and test to it.
Do you train service dogs in Scottsdale?
We build service dog foundations: public access manners, task foundations and documented, test ready reliability, with CGC evaluation along the way. Scottsdale clients typically do the foundation as Board & Train and the handler work as Home Sessions. We are honest at the consult about which dogs have the temperament for public access work and which do not.
